Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating a MoonDB account or using our API you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The Service

MoonDB provides a managed database, REST API, file storage, authentication, and AI endpoints ("the Service"). We host your data on Cloudflare's infrastructure and expose it through auto-generated APIs based on schemas you define.

3. Accounts

• You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity under your account.
• One person or legal entity per free account. Duplicate free accounts may be suspended.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

4. Your Data

• Ownership — you own the data you store in MoonDB. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over it.
• License to us — you grant us a limited license to host, serve, cache, and back up your data solely to operate the Service.
• Portability — you can export your data at any time via the REST API.
• Deletion — when you delete a project or account, we permanently remove associated data within 30 days.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal activity or to store illegal content.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, plan quotas, or security controls.
• Run cryptocurrency mining, proxy networks, or any compute-intensive workload unrelated to database operations.
• Store sensitive personal data (health records, government IDs, payment card numbers) without appropriate compliance measures.
• Resell the Service without written permission.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users' projects.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with notice when possible.

6. Plans & Billing

• Free-tier projects are subject to usage limits described on the Plans & Limits page.
• Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are listed on the pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice.
• Downgrades take effect at the end of the billing period. No prorated refunds for mid-cycle cancellations.
• If payment fails three consecutive times, your account may be downgraded to the free plan.

7. AI Endpoints

• AI features consume credits from your plan's included allowance or purchased top-ups.
• Prompts and generated output are sent to third-party model providers (Cloudflare Workers AI). We do not use your AI inputs or outputs to train models.
• You are responsible for the content you generate. Do not use AI features to produce harmful, misleading, or illegal content.

8. Availability & SLA

• We target high availability but do not guarantee a specific uptime percentage at this stage.
• Planned maintenance will be announced in advance when possible.
• The Service runs on Cloudflare's global network; availability depends on their infrastructure.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MoonDB shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including data loss, revenue loss, or business interruption.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Termination

• You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard.
• We may terminate your account for cause (terms violation, abuse, non-payment) with reasonable notice.
• Upon termination, you have 14 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted.
